1. What is probability
   • Numerical descriptions of how likely a certain event will occur.
   • Probability of an event is between $0-1$
   • The larger the probability, the more likely an event is to occur.

Formula

$N$ = Number of possible outcomes $A$ = An event, eg 6 throws

$$n(A)=1$$ $$Pr(A)=\frac{n(A)}{N}$$

Another formula where if there are multiple stages of an event

$$N=n_1\times n_2\times \cdots \times n_k$$

Examples

• If we toss a dice , theres 6 possible outcomes Therefore

$$Pr(6)=\frac{1}{6}$$

If we have two dice $n_1$ = 6 $n_2$ = 6 $N=36$
