After research, i noticed a common trend in the field of Biomedicine where the focus on creating robots stemmed purely on surgical tech or mimicking the movements of humans.

Discuss:

  • Soft Robotics and Artificial Musculature
    • Different types of artificial musculature. Smart textiles for finer motor control
  • ZnO -> Zinc Oxide nanoparticles for the protection against UV rays.
    • Has piezoelectric effects (Generates electricity when compressed or a force acted on it)
    • More power using electro textiles. -> Can make a shirt -> Compression shirt…? To get a thermal based Zinc Oxide power system for health monitoring.

Piezoelectricity -> Crystal lattice gets rearranged when a mechanical force is applied. The polarisation then creates an electric charge

Potential Projects:

PIezoelectric running shoes which channel voltage to a battery
